Week 6.2
Estimated time to complete 6.2: 15-20 mins

Working with our different emotions

Imagery exercise

00:00 / 00:16

In this next exercise you'll begin to work with different emotions that can arise at the same time.

Remember, exercises are not mandatory and give yourself permission to stop the exercise at any time.

Reflect...
Bring to mind an argument that you recently had with someone you care about. Think of a smaller argument, one that is not too serious, but just enough that it allows you to identify some feelings and emotions that arose within you.

Tick which emotions emerged for you

Now, take a moment to reflect on the next questions.

Reflect...
1. Which emotion came first? Which one(s) followed?
2. Which emotion did you prefer/which emotion did you not like (and maybe try to avoid)? Why?
3. In your opinion, why do we have different emotions in a situation like this?

Enter your response in your Reflective Journal and paste it below if you'd like your facilitators to see.

Three circles check-in

You might like to check-in with your three circles after the previous exercise.

You could choose to draw them on paper or use the Drawing your Three Circles handout.

While imagining that argument and reflecting on your emotions,
how do your three circles look? What are each of their sizes? Which emotions are present in each?
